TALK TO YOUR MIND POSITIVELY!
Your mind is always listening to you so instead of filling it with negative words just change them and this is how to do it. Take a sheet of paper or maybe do it on your phone, write the negative phrases you frequently use for eg if you use these type of words, ‘This is a nightmare’. ‘This is hell. This is torture’, etc. On the other side of the paper change it to, ‘This is a challenge. This is an opportunity’.
When you use painful words your brain decides to move you away from that pain. When you change it around, it doesn’t have to be pleasure. Not everyone loves going to the gym, or doing the budget report or a difficult assignment. But when you say, “I’ve chosen to go to the gym, I have chosen to eat healthier, I am doing this because then I’ll feel amazing afterwards,” your brain stops linking pain to it… and you will find that you are procrastinating a little less. Your mind loves to keep you safe and keep away from pain so if you associate the things you have to do or want to do with pain through the words you use the mind will work out ways to keep you away. But if you change the dialogue to specific instructions (not merely positive talking)- your mind will see to it that it helps you to achieve what you set out to do.
